On 21st June,2017 , 3rd International Yoga Day event was organized 3RD INTERNATIONALYOGA DAY – 21ST JUNE 2017 was a great success in itself. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice attributed mostly to India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his United Nations Address suggested the date of June 21st, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on June 21stsince its inception in 2015. On occasion of this auspicious day Bhavana College had planned for celebration of Yoga day by organizing yoga session in the college for students and teachers. Mrs. Ashwini D. Kulkarni, lecturer from our college, guided the students with different ASANAS and explained their importance in everyone’s day to day life. There was overwhelming response from the students and teachers and there was large participation in this event. It was a great event and each and every student together with our entire staff enjoyed the event to the fullest. Principal of college Mrs. Anjali Karandikar and Mrs. Meena Bhavsar, Director addressed the staff and students on this occasion and appealed them to inculcate yoga in their daily routine, not only to obtain health benefits at physical level but also for overall well-being of one’s mind . The session finished with Yoga prayers in Sanskrit conducted by Rupali Sinkar Madam.
