First NSS Special Rural Camp At Village Dundre, Shantivan Ashramshala


The NSS unit of College organised a 7 days residential NSS special rural camp during 1st february to 7th february 2018, at SHANTIVAN ASHRAMSHALA VILLAGE WAKADI,PANVEL.  our college adopted village DUNDRE post.MORBE PANVEL, for conducting various activities.twenty six student volunteers of our College  had participated in this residential rural camp along with the NSS programmeofficers Prof. Shailesh Arondekar and  Prof. Pratiksha Pawar. The residential  and accomodations arrangements were made in shantivan ashramshala Hall for the convenience of the participants. There were 7 girls and 19 boys volunteers,2 programme officers and 2 nonteaching staff members residing in three different dormitories at ashramshala hall.

The students started their journey from the college on 1st february 2018 at 10.30 am in a 40 seater bus  and a tempo carrying the kitchen materials. They reached the camp site at 1.30 pm. After unloading all the equipments and materials  the students had lunch. After finishing the lunch the volunteers took charge of the place and cleaned the backard,frontyard,the dormitories and kitchen area at the camp site.the students also constructed two pitholes for storing the wet and dry kachara. At 5.00 pm the programme officers and  NSS leaders visited the police patil shri.Nilesh Usatkar and other members of grampanchayat to  plan and decide the places and the nature of activities to be conducted at village DUNDRE. The day ended with the dinner,recall by the volunteers and informative session on NSS by sanket Padvekar,Tejas gulgule and arvind kachare.
  The 2nd day of the camp started at 6.00 am with yoga and exercise session by Prof.Rupali sinkar,prof. Anubha maheshwari  and instructor Rohit Gohil. After having breakfast and tea the volunteers visited village DUNDRE and cleaned the streets and bylanes under the guidance of police patil.after taking lunch and rest the volunteers performed a street play on woman empowerment for the students of ashramshala. The day ended with the dinner,recall by the volunteers and informative session on the shantivan ashramshala by superintendent Sri.Shaikh sir.
  The 3rd day of the camp started at 6.00 am with yoga and exercise session by prof.lohita rao and prof.ankita gawde. after having tea and breakfast the volunteers visited the river side of village DUNDRE and constructed pathway/approach road and repairs  of  the bandhara .the volunteers had specially carried 50 bags for filling mud and stones. after the lunch there was an informative session on ANDHASHRADHA NIRMULAN by PROF.CHANDRAKANT SARVAGOD OF ANDHASHRADHA NIRMULAN SAMITI. After tea and rest the volunteers visited village BHANGAR for street play. In the evening the volunteers had recall and an informative session by PROF.ALOK SINGH SIR.
  The 4th day of the camp started at 6.00 am with yoga and exercise session by prof.alok sir and prof. monu sir. After tea and breakfast the volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive at datta mandir area of village DUNDRE near vitabhattis and also performed a streetplay for the workers and children at vitabhatti.  Our honourable Trustee shri.jayant Bhawsar sir ,director Meenaben Bhawsar madam, Principal Dr.Anjali karandikar madam and vice principal Shri.Dubesir visited the place and motivated and guided the volunteers. Director madam distributed sweets and  biscuits to the vitbhatti  adivasi children. The Honourable Trustee Bhawsar sir and principal Dr.anjali karandikar madam gave inspiring speech to the volunteers at the camp site hall.in the evening a street play was organised for the villagers at village  WAKADI. the day ended with daily recall and practise of NSS song.
  The 5thday of the camp started at 6.00 am with yoga and exercise session by prof.poonam kesharwani madam and pror.monali patankar madam.the volunteers visited village DUNDRE and conducted swachchata  rally for swachcha bharat abhiyan with slogans for awareness. In the afternoon there was a special session on DISASTER MANAGEMENT  by AVHAN VOLUNTEERS OF MUMBAI UNIVERSITY . in the evening sports competition were conducted for the std 1st to std 8th students of ashramshala . in the night the volunteers had recall and debate session on various social topics.
  The 6th day of the camp started at 6.00 am with yoga and exercise session by prof.Ritu sharma madam,prof.pooja gogri madam and prof.dipti khandekar madam.after tea and breakfast the volunteers constructed two pitholes near solar panel area in shantivan as per the instructions of superintendant shri.shaikh sir and also cleaned the ground and removed all the garbage and stones from the ground for preparation of cultural programme.after the lunch there was an interesting session on saving animals and snakes by famous nisargmitra shree.RAJU MUMBAIKAR SIR (RAIGADBHUSHAN).the session was interactive and cleared a lot of misunderstandigs  and misconceptions about snakes. After the tea there was a special cultural event for the students of ashramshala “swapnotsav” in which many students participated in the group dances and singing competiton. The programme concluded with prize distribution ceremony  by shaikhsir, our NAAC coordinators PROF.ROOPA MADAM AND PROF.RISHALI MADAM.After the dinner the volunteers enjoyed the campfire event.
  The 7th day of the camp started at 7.00 am with light exercise and yoga. After tea and breakfast the volunteers went for shantivan darshan and visited the administrative office,aadhar ashram,kushtharogashram,vridhashram, Balvantrai mehta centre for panchayatraj,snehlata nisargopachar kendra,go shala,carpet factory and nursery in the shantivan ashram area. After finishing the lunch the volunteers cleaned the entire dormitories,frontyard,backyard and kitchen area. The volunteers left the campsite in bus and tempo at 4.30 pm and reached the college  safely at 6.00 pm

All the professors of college who visited the camp site and non teaching staff member Shri. Gopal and Shri. Prakash kamble extended their wholeheartedly support and cooperation at the camp by participating in various sessions,field works,meetings with the officials,conducting yoga and exercises sessions and helping in cooking breakfasts and meals.

The NSS rural camp became huge success due to the constant monitoring,support,motivation and guidance of honourable  Trustee Shri. Bhawsar sir,director Smt.Meenaben madam and principal Dr.Anjali karandikar madam.
