Industrial Visit To Pune And Mahableshwar

Overview  of the Trip
Bhavna Trust’s Junior & Degree College of Commerce & Science had organised an Industrial Visit on 7/09/2017 to 09/09/2017 to  Pune and Mahabaleshwar for the students of IT, BCOM, B.M.S and C.S.
The visit was organised with the prior permission and guidance of Hon. President Mr.Bhawsar and Director Mrs.Bhawsar.  Prof Mrs.Rupali Sinkar and Mrs.Ritu Sharma were in charge lecturers for this whole visit.

DAY 1
Details of the Journey
We started travelling from our college  campus at 6.00 a.m  by luxury bus.
We had a breakfast at 8.30 a.m and thereafter we reached Pune at 11.00a.m.
The first visit was to International Institute of Information Technology, Pune.

Company’s Profile
International Institute of Information Technology, Pune is a higher education institute located at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjewadi Pune, Maharashtra,India. The Institute is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University formerly known as University of Pune and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) , New Delhi and recognised by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Government of Maharashtra. The institute offers 4years degree program in engineering in 3 domains computer, information
Technology and electronics and telecommunications.

History
In the late’s1990’s to control the outflux of graduates as well as to reduce if not arrest the brain drain to Us & European countries, Mr. P.P. Chhabria the the president of MCCI(A).Shri P.P. Chhabria sought advice from scientists like Padma Bhushan ,Dr.R. A. Mashelkar and Padma Shri Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar who have been closely associated with this institute over the years.  On 8th May 2003, Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam the then President of India visited International Institute of Information Technology and dedicated this institute to the service of the nation.

I²IT- Poona is one of the premium colleges in the country. I²IT offers UG programmes. The technical department, Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering andDepartment of Computer Engineering and Department of Information Technology offer Bachelor of Engineering (B.E).


Objectives of the visit

DAY 2
We departed for Mahabaleshwar by bus and checked in hotel UNITED 21, 4 star Hotel at 12.30 p.m.We visited Mapro Garden and Farmland  by 3.30 p.m.
Mapro Mazaana Factory
Mapro Garden is a very very popular tourist spot in Mahabaleshwar. Mapro premises has Chocolate factory, a small nursery, a restaurant serving delectable food, children’s play area and retail outlet selling mapro products.

Mapro GardenThe name Mapro is short form of Mahabaleshwar Products. Mapro Garden is situated at Gureghar on Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani road around 8 km from Panchgani and 11 km from Mahabaleshwar. 

The restaurant serves limited food options but food quality is excellent.

  • Strawberry with Cream (Around Rs. 169 – 199)Mapro Garden retail outlet gives 10% discount on all mapro products. 
    Mehndi decoration is free for rists.  

Mapro Company
Mapro which was founded in 1959 by Mr.KishorVora, has a processing capacity of about 30,000 tonnes per year across its four different factories. Mapro revenue has been more than Rs. 100 crores. 

Falero, pulpy fruit chews is Mapro’s most popular product contributing around 50% of total revenue. Tourists can buy variety of Mapro products like syrups, sauces, jelly, chocolates, mocktail mixtures and much more.

Strawberry Festival
Famous For: Strawberries for free! 

Mapro GardenMapro also hosts famous Strawberry Festival in the month of March/April during the Easter weekend. Over 250 farmers from nearby villages participate in the four-day festival, opening their farms to tourists. Mapro garden offers strawberries completely free to the tourists.

The Festival showcases raw strawberries and innovative strawberry-based products such as strawberry pizza, strawberry bhel, chocolate dipped strawberries and strawberry sandwiches among others. 

The festival also includes traditional folk performances of Dhol and Lezimfor which dancers are invited from Pratapgad.

Then we proceeded to Table Land and we had Theme Party in the evening followed by dinner.

DAY 3
We visited Venna Lake and enjoyed shopping in the local market.


Conclusion
We are thankful to our principal maam, director maam for organizing such an informative IV to develop students practical skills.We hope to get more chances further to have such wonderful and informative experiences of visiting different industries.
It is rightly said “See & know” is better than ‘need and learn’. Students got a real feel of company’s working after this visit.
