Mahavir Jayanti holds great significance for the Jain community and is celebrated with great zeal and splendour in India and around the globe. The festival commemorates the birth of Lord Mahavir. As per Jain mythology, Lord Mahavira is the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism.
People across different states celebrate, Mahavir Jayanti with a blend of local culture with Mahavir’s universal message of peace and love. Mahavir Jayanti is the celebration of the birth of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami. Jains all over the globe rejoice and celebrate this cultural festival with a lot of enthusiasm. The festival also signifies the arrival of spring. Prominently, Jains communities in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab celebrate this festival.
